In order to not spend an exorbitant amount of money on workout clothing (I want boots too, yo), I’ve started to sell some of my old or less frequently used lululemon items on eBay. And its kind of crazy! I’ve had one or two pairs of shorts that I never used (they were a little indecent on my hiney), so I listed them, and BAM! More cash to spend there. Yeaaaah!
One of the items I purchased full price, and right away, was the Apres Run Pullover, in Black Swan. Black Swan is this beautiful dark purple shade, that I am soooo drawn too. I want EVERYTHING in this color! Haha. I couldn’t really justify anything, though, until this. Its basically a fancy wicking fleece that you can’t really run in. But it looks good, its SUPER soft, comfy and lovely, and I’m kind of in love.
Kind of. So, I need an opinion.
I wore it out to dinner last night with some friends – and I got soooo many compliments on it. My waxing technician commented on how much she loved it as well, and couldn’t stop touching it (haha). The sleeves have their Rulu material on the cuffs, and its also major soft and PRETTY in Black Swan. That is one of the features that people love most about it.
There are a couple of things about it that I don’t love so much. And normally, I wouldn’t care, but another product caught my attention as something that might be better.
1 – It was made for tall people. I’m short people. Normally, length on a top doesn’t bug me at all, and I actually appreciate it with the way some of my pants sit – BUT.. there is this little pocket up front that kind of sort of bulges out on me, since it hits my hips. With my “problem area” being my tummy, I’m kind of sensitive to that.
2 – Its a fleece. I mean, its a GORGEOUS fleece, but its fleece! This means that if its below 50 degrees, its not something I can really wear out and about without a jacket. Actually, this is a plus in Texas since that temperate season lasts longer, but in the Mid-Atlantic? Ehh. I had to put a coat on over it last night. THANK GAWD, because it got down to 35 while I was out.
And, its selling for more than retail on eBay since they are sold out in this color on their website.
BUT – I just put it on to take those pictures, and I love it again.
So what say you, reader population? Yay or Neigh? Shall I wait it out a month or so and wait for girls to go shopping with their Christmas money and see if I like it a bit more? In the meantime, I’m kind of pining over the Cuddle Up Jacket. (First World Yuppy) Decisions, Decisions..

One vote for wait and see how you feel after the holidays (and possibly after trying on the Cuddle Up Jacket). I think it looks great on you and if it’s comfortable, it deserves a second chance. I get what you’re saying about the bulge, but I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t pointed it out.
It’s gorgeous, by the way. If you decide to part with it, I’d love the link to the auction.
Thanks, Shellie!
I’ll definitely let you know…
